I love all types of weddings, but small intimate ones hold a very special place in my heart because its really just about two people in love making that commitment to each other. Its generally pretty chill and we can take our time with the portraits. For this wedding it was COLD and raining, but that didn’t stop us from creating gorgeous images inside!
It probably adds to it that the Fort Worth Courthouse is not only gorgeous, but everyone from the security guards (who I have to pass all my gear through) to the judges (who let me come get all up in their business for pictures) are simply wonderful to work with!
This particular judge was retired and filling in, and she was so amazing. When you imagine a courthouse wedding, you think of what you see on TV, which is pretty fast and generic. The judges at the courthouse actually take the time to ask about you, how you met and personalize your ceremony. Barbara (the judge — she didn’t say her last name), had a poem that she read to Sarah & Michael and told us that it was given to her on her wedding day, 57 years before. Also, she was kind enough to have it written out on a card as a gift to the two of them. Seriously, how amazing is that?
I had a great time with these two for their ceremony and taking some beautiful pictures around the building. Here are some of my favorite images from their day!
Congratulations to you both! Thank you so much for having me as a part of your day!
share it.
