Noah and Chelsea were married at the Heritage Farmstead in Plano. This was my first time to visit and I absolutely loved it. It had a gorgeous area for an outdoor ceremony, with a barn and roomy outdoor area to hold the reception. Chelsea chose to have a rustic and romantic wedding theme with lots of burlap, lace, pale pink, baby’s breath, candles, and wood to play up the natural beauty of the farm. Chelsea looked so beautiful with small daisies in her hair and her “hippie” wedding gown as she called it 🙂
What we didn’t expect was for it to rain HEAVILY from the time we got there until about 20 minutes after the ceremony. Now, having no inside alternative might have upset most brides, but not Chelsea! Her and the bridesmaids shrugged their shoulders, kicked off their shoes and went barefoot! The ceremony was held in an absolute downpour – trust me, I am not exaggerating on this! The guests were prepared with umbrellas. One guy even took pity on me after watching me get absolutely soaked and he escorted me around to get my shots (rain wasn’t going to stop me!) We just heard giggling and laughing the entire ceremony. I remember thinking, “If they can have a good time in a downpour, and focus on what is important (getting married), then this reception is going to rock!” Sure enough, I was right! I have honestly never laughed as hard at a wedding as I did that night.
Some of the events included what they called, “Yucca baby”, which is where you see them with an adult beverage in a jug being shaken to perfection; the mother/son dance was like none I had ever seen, with Noah picking up and swinging his mom around the barn; the groomsmen all dancing to Miley Cyrus, and more. Oh, and one last thing, we were all awarded with a big rainbow for being such good sports that day, so be sure to look for that in one of their couple portraits.
I hope you enjoy their images and that I was able to really capture the feel and mood of this very special wedding day 🙂 Please click “LIKE” if you enjoyed this post, or better yet, we love comments even more 😉
