Waco Earl Harrison Wedding Photographer | Kevin & Kandy (Part 1)

You may remember Kandy from her bridal session.  Kandy and her husband celebrated their marriage a few days ago and I couldn’t WAIT to load their blog post.

Kevin and Kandy are both marines. I started talking to Kandy while she was still in Senegal, Africa working at the American Embassy. She was due to come home in only a few months time and was planning her wedding long distance.  Her future husband, also worked for the Embassy in El Salvador.  They met right after they had signed on for 3 yrs, and part of the agreement was that they couldn’t marry during the 3 yrs.  So, for 3 years oceans separated them and they would see each other when they could on their time off.

Kandy is the sweetest, funniest girl ever and Kevin just adores her.  In every single picture I took they were either laughing themselves silly or he was looking at her with so much love in his eyes, that it was impossible to miss.

The wedding and reception were at the Earl Harrison House in Waco, TX. It was quite hot and humid, but we had such a good time!  We were treated like family and even invited to throw on our flip-flops at the reception so we would be more comfortable.   To be Kevin and Kandy’s photographer was truly an honor.

Thank you to Shanna Leigh Images for helping me and keeping me awake on that looong drive!

This first post will contain the great, yummy details and the guys and gals getting ready, and some formals.  Part two will contain the ceremony and reception.  Enjoy!

First, the wonderful detail shots…

Kandy’s sweet vows that she wrote for Kevin.  She asked me and Shanna to read them and worriedly waited, asking, “do you think they are ok?”  They were sweet, heartfelt and funny.  They were perfect.

Kathy, who runs the venue does everything she can to make sure everyone stays cool during the hot summer months in Texas.  I almost stuck my head in this, but I wasn’t exactly sure how many feet had already been in there;)

Now, the guys getting ready….

And the lovely ladies getting ready…

Cute flower girl toes!

Kandy reading her vows…

Kandy being silly.  Kathy runs a tight ship, no one would dare break her rules, but it was fun to tease her with pictures;)

Now, most people and photographers don’t really care for taking “formal” pictures of the wedding party, since they are posed shots, but they are the ones that everyone wants a copy of afterwards.  In this case, it is pretty hard to even call these “formals”.  We were cracking up with this great group all the way through.  They were up for anything!  It was hard to not just make a post with their formals:) These are my favorites.

Their “blue steel” look…

Kandy warned me that Kevin was prone to make some kind of gestures with his hands in all of his pictures, so we were sure to get this one for her:) I’m know, we are terrible!

I hope you enjoyed these! See Part 2 here!
